Burns Supper
Saturday 22nd January, 2011
Haggis is the culinary centrepiece of a Burns Supper, which celebrates the life and work of Robert Burns on or near his birth date of the 25th January. The supper may be an informal gathering of friends or a grand and glittering event. Burns Suppers are hugely popular, and it is a fitting testament to the poet’s enduring appeal and relevance that the ritual of sharing haggis with friends and family has become a global affair.
Haggis was immortalised by Burns in his poem, ‘To a haggis’ which is recited when the dish is brought to the table.
So go on, come and enjoy Burns Night at the Walter. We promise it will involve lots of laughter, literature, discourse and haggis.

This year the haggis is being supplied by Macsweens.

The Legendary 59 minutes lives on. Yes, alright. I’ll open on Christmas Day. But only for 59 minutes.
Chance to wish everyone “Merry Christmas” in less than hour!
For the eager ones there is mulled wine on the bar so help yourselves. And there’s still time to buy a drink. Or two, too! Door opens at 12noon. No queue jumping, Ok!?
The Walter reopens on 27th December at 12noon for all Warrior fans – and maybe the odd Tiger fan – for pre-match ‘fed and waltering’. And remember, post-match free food on the bar. As long as Warriors win. Right!?
C’mon you Warriors!!!!
